Our history dates back to the year of 1949, when Mr. João de Borba established his law practice in Blumenau, then one of the biggest and richest textile centers in Brazil.
In a short while, he became one of the most respected lawyers, developing a vast clientele formed by major companies such as Karsten S/A, HACO Etiquetas, Sulfabril S/A, Círculo S/A, Tecidos Carlos Renaux S/A, TEKA S/A, Gráfica 43 S/A, Cia. Hering, Artex S/A, Cremer S/A, among many others.
Recognized by his work, in 1967 he was appointed by the Governor of the State of Santa Catarina as a judge to the State Court of Justice. While in office, he served as well as a judge to the State Electoral Court of Justice.
In 1982, Mr. de Borba retired from magistracy, returning to the private law practice, when in 2001 Mr. João de Borba Neto joined him upon his graduation at law school.
Mr. de Borba Neto is specialized in international trade from Fundação Getúlio Vargas, with an extension at the Harris School for Public Policy and Finance of the University of Chicago, USA. He participated to the Program for Young Attorneys at the Mission of Brazil to the WTO in Geneva, Switzerland, and to the Program of Trade Policy at the Embassy of Brazil in Washington, DC, USA.
Currently, Mr. de Borba Neto also serves as a member of the Committee to Public International Law from the Bar Association of Brazil in Santa Catarina. He serves as well as a member of the Committee to Customs Law from the same institution.
